Born and raised in Teluk Intan, Perak, Narendran Thorairaj went on to study in the UK, firstly completing his Bachelor of Laws at Cardiff University, before obtaining a Graduate Diploma in Economics at SOAS, University of London. He then enjoyed two years’ experience working for a commodity trading company, focussing on collateral management and edible oils. He was introduced to IP in the course of his legal studies, which eventually compelled him to join Mirandah Asia.

Here, he has specialised in franchise law, securing deals with several up-and-coming clients. He has also handled recordals for many aspects of IP – trademarks, patents and designs, as well as trademark prosecution and post-grant trademark work.

Naren enjoys swimming and watching movies during his free time.  From his university days, he remains an avid supporter of the Malaysian-owned Cardiff City F.C.
