Tharsinie Moorthy obtained her law degree from Oxford Brookes University and started out as a paralegal at an established Intellectual Property law firm. She gained valuable experience in IP enforcement work having assisted in conducting raids and anti-counterfeiting operations, ensuring the protection of the client’s IP rights. She went on to pursue a barrister training course in the United Kingdom, and upon returning to Malaysia, she joined Mirandah Asia as a Trademark Executive.

At Mirandah Asia, Tharsinie handles a broad range of trademark matters, with a focus on trademark prosecution, opposition, and infringement. She advises on examination objections and various strategies to overcome those objections; drafting written submissions and arguments in response thereto; and appearing before examiners at the Malaysian Registry, for oral submissions towards securing acceptance and registration of clients’ trademark applications. She also assists in contentious trademark matters, including opposition proceedings and disputes involving trademark infringement. This involves conducting legal and procedural research, assessing and advising on the merits of the cases, preparing submissions and evidence, advising and assisting clients on the appropriate strategies to protect and enforce their trademark rights in Malaysia.

Beyond her professional commitments, Tharsinie is an avid reader who enjoys collecting books and painting in her leisure time.
